An 8.5-inch "men's" bracelet on a 6.75-inch wrist leaves 1.75 inches of slack, and it slides down over the hand every time the arm drops. A 12mm link that looked solid in the product photograph goes on a slim wrist and reads as costume. Both mistakes start in the listing.

The best men's bracelets are chosen on two numbers and one decision: your wrist measurement plus an allowance, the bracelet's width in millimetres relative to that wrist, and a material that suits how hard your wrist lives. Most listings give a length and the words "fits most men". Almost none help with width.
Our six picks run from $14.44 to $493.99 as of September 2026, in stainless steel, beads, leather, sterling silver, gold filled and solid gold, and we flag what each listing leaves out. For every other style and closure question, our guide to bracelets is the broad overview.

Length: Men's Sizes and the Allowance Rule
Measure first, then add. According to Greenwich St. Jewelers, men's bracelets typically fall between 7.5 and 8.5 inches; the Plumb Club puts the standard men's range at 7.5 to 9 inches, with 8 inches the most common length.
Those are bracelet lengths, not wrist sizes. To get from one to the other:
- Measure just above the wrist bone, as Greenwich advises.
- Add allowance. Greenwich suggests about ¼ inch for a snug fit, ½ inch for a classic fit and ¾ inch or more for a loose drape. The Plumb Club gives ¼ to 1 inch.
- Round up between sizes. David Yurman's men's chart sizes by wrist, from X-Small for a 6.5-7.0 inch wrist to X-Large for about 8.5-9.0 inches, and advises the larger size when you are between two.
Most listings blur length and wrist size; two of our picks keep them apart. The LIVLOKO states that its 19, 21 and 23 cm sizes are the bracelet's outer length and maps each to a wrist: 19 cm for 16-17.5 cm, 21 cm for 18-20 cm, 23 cm for 20.5-22 cm. The Qumfole is 8.0 inches in total and, per the maker, fits wrists of 6.7 to 7.5 inches: a built-in allowance of half an inch to 1.3 inches, with a removable 0.4-inch link.
Worked example: a 7-inch wrist plus a ½-inch classic allowance wants a 7.5-inch bracelet, yet all three curb links below are sold here at 8.5 inches; order a shorter variation where one exists. Our bracelet size guide covers measuring in detail.
Width: How Wide a Men's Bracelet Should Be
Width is proportional, not absolute: an 8mm link that looks right on a 7.5-inch wrist looks heavy on a 6.5-inch one.
The most useful published rule we found comes from the jewelry brand Caligio: keep the width in millimetres under one twentieth of your wrist circumference in millimetres. That caps a 7-inch wrist near 9mm and lets an 8-inch wrist carry 10mm. Caligio says 12mm has almost no wrist it genuinely fits; by the rule it needs a wrist of about 9.5 inches.
Our picks form a ladder:
- 5.5mm: the Nuragold. Well inside the rule on any adult wrist. It reads as a detail and sits under a shirt cuff.
- 8mm: the Qumfole, the BRAYEG and the RANKEEF beads. The ceiling for a 6.3-inch wrist: bold on 6.75 inches, a confident everyday width on 7.5. The BRAYEG's title calls this width "Dainty"; on most men it will not be. Round beads also stand 8mm off the skin, so they read chunkier than a flat link.
- 9mm: the Miabella. Needs a wrist of about 7.1 inches to sit inside the rule: one for a larger wrist, or for someone who wants it seen.
Our rule of thumb before ordering: hold a ruler across your wrist at the width you are considering, or check the watch strap you already wear; if that width looks right, a bracelet no wider will too. The same proportion logic governs a necklace chain against a neck, and our guide to the best men's necklace chains applies it there.
Cuffs follow the same idea: Greenwich notes that thicker cuffs feel tighter than fine chains, and Borsheims advises keeping cuff width proportional to the wrist. None of our six is a cuff; our bangle versus cuff comparison covers sizing one.
Materials and How Each Ages on a Wrist
A wrist hits desks and gets washed with your hands; choose the material for that life.
Stainless Steel: Hard, Cheap, Tarnish-Free
Stainless steel is hard, inexpensive and does not tarnish the way silver does, so it suits a bracelet you never take off. The weak point at budget prices is a coloured finish, like the Qumfole's gunmetal, which wears first where links rub. We left titanium and tungsten carbide out of this group; our men's wedding bands guide covers how each behaves on a hand.
Sterling Silver: Bright, Soft, Repairable
According to the jeweler Bario Neal, sterling is 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, most commonly copper, and it tarnishes when the silver reacts with sulfur-containing compounds in the air, particularly hydrogen sulfide, forming a thin layer of silver sulfide. Bario Neal recommends removing sterling before showering, because soap and steam accelerate tarnish. Silver scratches more easily than steel, but a bench jeweler can resize or repair it.
Gold: Plated, Filled or Solid
Plating is a thin film over base metal. Gold filled is thicker: under the Federal Trade Commission's Jewelry Guides at 16 CFR 23.3, "Gold Filled" may be used when a layer of gold alloy of not less than 10 karat makes up at least 1/20th of the weight of the metal in the entire article. Solid gold is alloy all the way through; 10k is ten parts gold in 24, recorded on the millesimal fineness scale as 417, or 41.7%. Our best gold bracelets article covers karat and hollow-versus-solid construction in full.
Leather: Wears Out Rather Than Breaking
Leather takes up sweat and water, stiffens as it dries, and eventually cracks and stretches. Keep it off for the shower, the pool and the gym.
Beads on Elastic: A Consumable
Stretch cord perishes with age and tends to snap without warning, and rolling a stretch bracelet over your hand strains the cord every time. Plan to replace or restring it.
Our Picks, Cheapest First
Six bracelets in rising price order, prices as of September 2026. If the link names are new to you, our explainer on types of bracelets shows how the designs differ.
Best Stainless Steel: Qumfole 8mm Franco Link
$14.44 as of September 2026 buys an 8mm stainless steel Franco link with a gunmetal finish and a magnetic clasp, 8.0 inches including a removable 0.4-inch link. What earns it a place is the fit statement: the maker says it fits wrists from 6.7 to 7.5 inches, exactly what most listings withhold.
It suits a 7- to 7.5-inch wrist and a buyer who wants one bracelet for work and weekends without worrying about tarnish. The trade-offs: the listing describes no mechanical safety catch behind the magnet, and the gunmetal colour is a surface treatment that can wear through where the links rub.
Best Beaded: RANKEEF 8mm Stone Bead Set
$14.99 as of September 2026 buys a set of stretch bracelets strung with 8mm stone beads, with an adjustable range the maker gives as 7.3 to 10.4 inches. It is the lowest-commitment way to find out whether you like wearing anything on your wrist.
Read the listing twice. It says you will receive 3 or 5 bracelets, so the count depends on the variation, and it contradicts itself on stones: one bullet lists tiger eye, blue tiger eye and lava rock, another tiger eye and black matte agate. Confirm what your variation contains. The trade-off is the elastic, which will eventually perish and snap.
Best Leather: LIVLOKO Three-Band Leather and Bead
$19.99 as of September 2026 buys three black leather bands set with tiger-eye and black agate beads, which the maker says are handcrafted from real leather with hand-stitched detailing, delivered in a gift box.
Its best feature is the size guide: outer lengths mapped to wrist ranges, with the maker saying the 21 cm size, for an 18-20 cm wrist, fits most men. Convert before ordering: 21 cm is about 8.3 inches, for a wrist of roughly 7.1 to 7.9 inches.
The trade-offs: leather wears out, so keep it dry, and the title describes the clasp as magnetic. No width is published.
Best Sterling Silver: Miabella 9mm Italian Curb
$95.00 as of September 2026 buys a solid 925 sterling silver curb link, made in Italy, with flat, bevelled, faceted links and a lobster clasp. The listing gives width and height, 9mm by 2mm, more than most men's listings publish, though no gram weight. The maker states each piece carries a "925 Italy" marking.
This is the width lesson in one bracelet. From a wrist of about 7.1 inches up, or for someone who wants it noticed, 9mm is right. On a 6.75-inch wrist it overwhelms, and this variation is 8.5 inches, long for a small wrist. Sterling tarnishes, so budget for occasional polishing.
Best Gold-Look: BRAYEG 8mm Gold-Filled Curb
$133.99 as of September 2026 buys an 8mm curb with faceted links, 8.5 inches in this variation, with 7.5 and 8 inch sizes offered per the maker: a gold-coloured bracelet at a men's width without the solid-gold price.
The title says "14K Gold"; the material bullet says 14K gold filled, "a thick outer layer of 14K gold permanently bonded to a durable core". Those are different things, and the bullet never states the fraction or names the core metal. Look for a stamp that states the fraction, such as 1/20 14K GF; if you cannot see one, ask the seller.
The waterproof, shower, swim, workout and sleep claims are the maker's. The "Secure Buckle" is a lobster clasp.
Best Solid Gold: Nuragold 10k Cuban Curb, 5.5mm
$493.99 as of September 2026 buys a 5.5mm Cuban curb in 10k gold, stamped 10K, 8.5 inches, lobster clasp, made in Italy, from a listing that discloses an approximate weight of 3.7 grams and hollow links. Nuragold states it is not plated, not filled and not overlayed.
At 41.7% gold, 3.7 grams holds about 1.5 grams of fine gold. According to JM Bullion's spot price chart, gold was $140.21 per gram on September 11, 2026, so the gold content is worth roughly $216, about 44% of the price.
The 5.5mm width is deliberate: every millimetre of solid gold costs grams. The trade-offs: hollow links dent if crushed and are hard to repair invisibly, 10k is a paler yellow than 14k, and 8.5 inches is long for a slim wrist.

Clasps on Men's Bracelets
Half our picks skip the standard closure, which matters: a bracelet that opens falls off your arm, and you usually notice at home.
- Magnetic: the Qumfole and the LIVLOKO. One-handed, which is the appeal. In our view the weakness is that a magnet resists a straight pull but can be levered open by a sideways knock or snag, and neither listing describes a safety catch.
- Elastic: the RANKEEF. Nothing to open; the cord is the failure point.
- Lobster claw: the Miabella, the BRAYEG and the Nuragold. A spring-loaded gate opened by a lever that needs a deliberate pull. Fiddly one-handed, but we consider it the most secure closure here.
Our breakdown of bracelet clasp types compares the stronger alternatives.
Wearing a Bracelet With a Watch
According to the men's accessories retailer Minor Detail, the left wrist is the most popular side for a man's watch, with bracelets worn on the right. It is the simplest arrangement and keeps metal off your watch case.
If you want both on one wrist, our rules:
- Leave a gap of about a finger's width, so bracelet and case do not grind together.
- Soft next to hard. A metal link can scuff a polished case; Minor Detail suggests slim beaded bracelets or thin leather beside a watch.
- Stay narrower than the strap, so the watch remains the main piece.
For wearing several at once, see our guide on how to stack bracelets.
How to Choose: Budget and Use
By budget, as of September 2026:
- Under $20: the Qumfole ($14.44) for metal, the RANKEEF ($14.99) for beads, the LIVLOKO ($19.99) for leather.
- Around $100: the Miabella ($95.00), if your wrist can carry 9mm.
- Over $100: the BRAYEG ($133.99) for an 8mm gold look, once the seller confirms the fraction; the Nuragold ($493.99) for gold all the way through.
By use:
- Office: the Nuragold's 5.5mm sits under a shirt cuff; the LIVLOKO reads casual but quiet.
- Gym: ideally nothing. If you insist, the Qumfole is the cheapest thing to lose.
- Always on: stainless steel or solid gold. Sterling tarnishes faster with soap and steam, leather wants to stay dry, and elastic perishes.
The Bottom Line
Measure just above the wrist bone, add ¼ to 1 inch, and check whether a maker's size means the bracelet or your wrist; the LIVLOKO and David Yurman charts show both conventions in use. Keep the width under one twentieth of your wrist circumference, and match the material to how you will wear it. For the wider world of styles and closures, our complete guide to bracelets is the next page to read.
FAQ
Should men wear bracelets?
If you want to, yes; it is a matter of taste, not rules. The practical questions are fit, width and material, covered above. If you are unsure, start with an inexpensive steel, leather or beaded piece before spending more.
What size bracelet should a man wear?
Measure just above the wrist bone and add allowance: Greenwich St. Jewelers suggests ¼ inch for snug, ½ inch for classic and ¾ inch or more for a loose drape. The Plumb Club names 8 inches as the most common men's length. A 7-inch wrist with a classic fit wants a 7.5-inch bracelet.
How wide should a men's bracelet be?
In proportion to the wrist. Caligio's rule keeps the width in millimetres under one twentieth of wrist circumference in millimetres: roughly 9mm for a 7-inch wrist and 10mm for an 8-inch wrist. By that rule an 8mm link suits wrists from about 6.3 inches, and a 9mm link from about 7.1 inches.
Which wrist should a man wear a bracelet on?
If you wear a watch, the other one; Minor Detail notes the left wrist is the most popular side for a man's watch. Without a watch, our suggestion is the non-dominant wrist, where a bracelet takes fewer knocks.
Can you shower in a men's bracelet?
By material. Stainless steel is fine in water, though a coloured finish may wear with time. Take leather off; water stiffens and cracks it. Bario Neal advises removing sterling before showering because soap and steam accelerate tarnish. Solid gold is unaffected by water. The BRAYEG's shower-safe claim is the maker's, for a gold-filled piece with no stated fraction.
Qumfole Mens Bracelet-Stainless Steel Magnetic Clasp Franco Chain Bracelets for Men Gunmetal
Qumfole Mens Bracelet Stainless Steel Magnetic Clasp Franco Chain Bracelets for Men Gunmetal
A stainless steel Franco link, 8mm wide, in a gunmetal colour that the maker says is applied with vacuum plating technology.
A stainless steel Franco link, 8mm wide, in a gunmetal colour that the maker says is applied with vacuum plating technology. It measures 7.6 inches plus a removable 0.4 inch link, 8.0 inches in total, and the maker states it fits most men's wrists from 6.7 to 7.5 inches. It closes with a magnetic clasp that the maker describes as strong, easy to wear with one hand and secure.
"The cheapest way to find out whether an 8mm link suits your wrist, from a listing that does the fit arithmetic for you by publishing a wrist range. The trade-offs are the closure and the colour: the listing describes no mechanical safety catch behind the magnet, and the gunmetal is a surface treatment over steel that can wear through at the clasp and wherever the links rub.
RANKEEF Tiger Eye Bracelet For Men 8MM Natural Stone Beads Bracelet Set Stretch Lava Rock Bracelets Adjustable Black Crystal Beaded Bracelet for Men Women Gifts
RANKEEF Tiger Eye Bracelet For Men 8MM Natural Stone Beads Bracelet Set Stretch Lava Rock Bracelets Adjustable Black Crystal Beaded Bracelet for Men Women Gifts
A set of stretch bracelets strung with 8mm stone beads on elastic cord, with an adjustable range the maker gives as 7.
A set of stretch bracelets strung with 8mm stone beads on elastic cord, with an adjustable range the maker gives as 7.3 to 10.4 inches; the maker describes it as unisex and says the beads are light in weight. The listing contradicts itself twice: it says you will receive 3 or 5 bracelets depending on the variation, and one bullet lists tiger eye, blue tiger eye and lava rock while another says the set is tiger eye and black matte agate.
"The lowest-commitment way to learn whether you like wearing anything on your wrist at all. The trade-off is the cord: elastic perishes and tends to snap without warning, and rolling a stretch bracelet over your hand every time you put it on helps wear it out, so confirm which stones and how many bracelets your exact variation contains.

Three black leather bands with tiger-eye and black agate beads, which the maker says are handcrafted from real leather with hand-stitched detailing, shipped in a gift box. The 19, 21 and 23 cm options are the bracelet's outer length, not wrist size: per the listing, 19 cm fits a 16-17.5 cm wrist, 21 cm an 18-20 cm wrist and 23 cm a 20.5-22 cm wrist. The title describes a magnetic adjustable steel clasp, and a bullet describes a strong and secure stainless steel clasp designed for everyday wear.
"The pick for a casual, textured bracelet, and the listing with the clearest size guide in this group. The trade-off is that leather wears out rather than breaking: it takes up sweat and water, stiffens and eventually cracks, so this is a bracelet for a dry wrist, and the clasp is magnetic per the title.
Miabella Italian 925 Sterling Silver Solid 9mm Diamond-Cut Cuban Link Curb Chain Bracelet for Men, Made in Italy (8.5 Inches)
Miabella Italian 925 Sterling Silver Solid 9mm Diamond Cut Cuban Link Curb Chain Bracelet for Men Made in Italy 8 5 Inches
A solid 925 sterling silver curb link with flat, bevelled, faceted links, 9mm wide and 2mm high, made in Italy.
A solid 925 sterling silver curb link with flat, bevelled, faceted links, 9mm wide and 2mm high, made in Italy. This variation is 8.5 inches long and closes with a lobster clasp; the maker states it is nickel free and hypoallergenic and that each piece is authenticated with a 925 Italy marking. No gram weight is published.
"The bracelet for a broader wrist and a buyer who wants it noticed, from a rare listing that gives both width and height. The trade-offs are proportion and upkeep: 9mm crowds a slim wrist and 8.5 inches is long for a small one, and sterling tarnishes, so plan on a polishing cloth.
BRAYEG 8mm Gold Curb Bracelet for Women Men 14K Gold Diamond-Cut Cuban Link Curb Chain Bracelet for Men Women, Secure Buckle Bracelet Dainty Jewelry Gifts Size 8.5in
BRAYEG 8mm Gold Curb Bracelet for Women Men 14K Gold Diamond Cut Cuban Link Curb Chain Bracelet for Men Women Secure Buckle Bracelet Dainty Jewelry Gifts Size 8 5in
An 8mm curb link with faceted links, 8.
An 8mm curb link with faceted links, 8.5 inches in this variation, with 7.5 and 8 inch sizes also offered per the maker. The listing contradicts itself on material: the title says 14K Gold, while the material bullet describes 14K gold filled, a thick outer layer of 14K gold bonded to a durable core, without stating the gold-to-weight fraction or naming the core metal. The maker states it is non-tarnish, nickel-free and waterproof, and the Secure Buckle in the title is a lobster clasp per the bullets.
"The gold-coloured 8mm link for a buyer who wants the look of a heavy curb without paying for solid gold. The trade-off is information: a gold-filled claim with no stated fraction cannot be checked from the listing, so look for a 1/20 14K GF stamp or ask the seller before relying on the maker's shower-and-sleep claims.
Nuragold 10k Real Yellow Gold Cuban Curb Link 5.5mm Chain Bracelet - 8.5" - 8.5"
Nuragold 10k Real Yellow Gold Cuban Curb Link 5 5mm Chain Bracelet 8 5 8 5
A 5.
A 5.5mm Cuban curb link in 10k gold, stamped 10K, 8.5 inches long, with an approximate weight of 3.7 grams and hollow links, closed with a lobster clasp. Nuragold states it is not plated, not filled and not overlayed, that it is professionally tested and made in Italy with each link hand polished, and that it will not tarnish, fade or discolour.
"The only pick here that is gold all the way through, and the only listing that tells you both its weight and that its links are hollow. The trade-offs follow from that disclosure: hollow links dent if crushed and are hard to repair invisibly, 10k is a paler yellow than 14k, and 8.5 inches is long for a slim wrist.
